Tambo Springs Logistics Gateway is a 600ha industrial development located in the southern periphery of Johannesburg/Ekurhuleni and within the Johannesburg/Durban/Coega/Cape Town road freight and rail corridor. RFP For Concession Issued By Transnet.
Transnet issues an RFP calling for tenders from the private sector to construct, own, operate and transfer an Intermodal Rail Terminal at Tambo Springs on a 20-year Concession basis.

December 2017

Township Development Approvals.
All relevant regulatory approvals in place to allow commencement of the development of Phase 1, totaling 110 hectares of developable land (incorporating the Intermodal Terminal).

June 2018

GDRT Announce Construction Of New Interchange And K148.
This infrastructure substantially enhances the already existing road infrastructure linking Tambo Springs to the N3 and other major provincial and national road infrastructure.

October 2018

Transnet Award Intermodal Terminal Concession.
On 26 October 2018, the Transnet Board formally approved the awarding of a 20-year Concession to construct, own, operate and transfer the Tambo Springs Intermodal Terminal.

June 2019

Formal Announcement by Transnet of the Intermodal Terminal Development.

November 2019

Construction to Commence.

2020

Infrastructure Construction to Commence.
