Manufacturing sector needs support
It wasn’t very long ago when ours was called a dark continent, a basket case. The winds of change moved swiftly. Little did we know then how much faster the pace would get and that in such a short time constitutionalism racism would no longer exist. In its place is a democratic country eager to implement a free market economy and desperate to deal with rising unemployment, poverty and service delivery protests.
As one of the most manufacturing-intensive economies in the continent it is not surprising that the performance of the sector is one of our major hopes to stem the tides of rising unemployment, poverty and service delivery protests.
The manufacturing sector has a fundamental role to play in global economic growth and job creation for emerging economies and developed markets.
